Customer Safety Information - Covid-19

We take the threat of Covid-19 extremely seriously and will only be operating under the strictest of guidelines in order to protect our staff, customers and suppliers. Whilst it’s essential that we all follow the advice to “Stay at Home” this isn’t possible for every member of society and in order to keep key workers safe on the road it is vital that we continue to provide our services. We aim to be able to carry out repairs, mot testing and maintenance for those who use their vehicles for essential travel during these very challenging times.

In order to ensure this and to reduce the risk far as possible we are implementing the following procedures when you visit our centres.

But First and Most importantly: We would ask any customers or visitors experiencing symptoms or that have been in direct contact or living with people experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 to postpone visiting our branches.

New and Revised Procedures

On arrival:

Park your car in the car park and make your way to reception.  Please adhere to the maximum number of customers allowed in the reception at one time.  If there is less than this maximum number in the reception, please enter and stay behind the 2m social distancing lines.

DO NOT go into our workshop unless you have been invited by a member of staff.

Our reception will have a maximum number of customers allowed in them at one time which is monitored by a member of staff.

  • Please adhere to maximum reception customer occupancy signs. (No exceptions)
  • If the maximum allowed number of customers are in reception, please wait outside until one person leaves, and you can enter safely.
  • For health reasons, Coffee machines will be out of action
  • Please sanitise you hands when entering the reception.
  • All common surfaces will be cleaned at regular intervals
  • Card payment machines will be cleaned before and after use by each customer
  • All technicians are wearing new protective gloves for each vehicle.
  • While work is being completed customers can choose to either;
    • Wait in reception if the maximum number of customers in reception is not exceeded.
    • Wait outside the branch in a safe place.
    • Wait in their cars (work dependant – our technicians will advise) If you are doing this please place your keys and locking wheel nut on your windscreen
    • Leave the vehicle and collect later.
  • We ask ALL customers to please sanitise your hands when leaving the reception

In accordance with the governments recommendations we have implemented the following polices related to social distancing and hygiene;

Social Distancing

  • Please adhere to maximum numbers of customers permitted in reception areas at any one time. There are signs tell you how many this is.
  • Customers are asked to wait in their vehicle or outside in a safe place, maintaining social distancing, prior to work commencing if the maximum number of customers are already in the reception.
  • Our staff will always remain at least 2 meters distance away from you and we would appreciate it if you helped maintain this space.
  • We want to keep cash handling to a minimum so please pay with a card or book and pay online in order to minimise contact for both our advisors and accounting staff.
  • Come to the depot alone DO NOT come in groups or couples where possible.

Hygiene

  • We have put stringent cleaning procedures in place in all our branches.
  • All technicians are wearing new protective gloves for each vehicle and we have strict procedures if we need to drive your vehicle in place.

Face Coverings

  • Any customer visiting a Tyre Spot Autocentre must now wear a face covering to keep themselves and others safe.

Payment

  • We want to keep cash handling to a minimum so please pay with a card wherever possible.
  • If you have ordered & paid for your tyres online, there will be no further contact with anyone when you are at our centre. The only exception to this is if you have had additional work done that has not been paid for online. (Wheel alignment etc)
  • Card payments can be made over the telephone, though we would prefer to use chip & pin or contactless payments using the card reader.
  • Please only approach the reception counter when making your payment and please stay behind the screens we have installed when doing so.  Payment can also be made via credit or debit card over the phone if required to minimise risk.
  • Note: For all transactions we will require your name & address (associated with the payment card) a contact telephone number and an email address to allow us to send you a copy of your receipt as we won’t be printing out paper invoices so to minimise contact between staff and customers.

We feel confident that by taking these measures our branches can stay safe and fully operational throughout this outbreak.
